We Are LA

Following the Borderline Bar and Grill tragedy and the recent Woolsey fire in the Southern California area, many local members in communities around the area are organizing events and fundraisers to provide support. For example, California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks has organized a webpage where you can help donate to these events. The link for these events and organizations can be found here:
In addition, in an article published by the Ventura County Star, there are many events this weekend and upcoming in the rest of November that will help donate to these events. Certain events such as:
11/16 Lemonade in Thousand Oaks will donate 100% of earnings on the day to families of those affected by the Borderline Bar and Grill shooting and the Woolsey fire.
11/18 The Boys and Girls Club of Moorpark is running a community fundraiser with food trucks and live music.
11/24 A “Boots for Borderline” fundraiser at the Sunland Vintage Winery tasting room.
Any remaining information can be found at the link provided:
In addition, a brilliant webpage set up by local realtor, Eddy Milanes, was set up showing all of the local events in the near future in the communities of Simi Valley, Moorpark, and Thousand Oaks. A truly heartfelt and touching page, this site shows how you can donate, which events you can attend, and how you can send gifts and letters to families affected. The link for this site can be found here and highly suggested to look at if interested in helping in any type of way:
In addition, many local organizations and sports teams are sending huge donations to the families affected by these tragedies and doing as much as they can. For example, in addition to their large donations, the Los Angeles Lakers, Kings, and Clippers all held pregame ceremonies honoring the victims of the recent events and wore shirts that said “Enough” on the front, with the victims of the Borderline shooting listed on the back of the shirt. In addition , the Clippers began to sell these shirts online, with all proceeds going to the families of the victims involved. If interested, you can find the link to these shirts here:
This week, on Monday Night Football, the Los Angeles Rams will also be giving out thousands of complimentary tickets to their matchup and primetime game against the Kansas City Chiefs to all first responders and people affected directly by these events. The Rams have been a huge part of trying to bring the community together as much as possible, with this upcoming event and players such as left tackle Andrew Whitworth, donating entire game checks to fundraisers for the shooting in Thousand Oaks. The Rams own a personal connection with the city of Thousand Oaks, as their headquarters and practice facility are located there.
The entire Los Angeles community and its surrounding areas have been affected by these tragedies severely. Whether it be donating money to fundraisers, trying to bring about change, or even just writing a letter to someone affected by these, Angelenos are being called upon to rally together and restore the hearts of our communities. If there was ever a city that can respond to something as devastating as these, it is Los Angeles and its’ locals will certainly try to do as much as they can to bring everyone together and help.
